Thomas Husband started Husband Transport in 1939 with a single truck. Joe McManus purchased T. Husband Transport from the estate of Tommy Husband in 1949, at that time the company had 30 trucks on the road. Joe sold Husband Transport to The Canadian National Railway in 1963 when the company had grown to 720 trucks and a network of depots covering Western Ontario, extending east to Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal.
We are always looking for new photographs, stories or other items that relate to one of the companies on this website as well as the McManus family and Port Stanley in general. Please contact us.
